Sandy Tremont

Mrs. Tremont loves children of all ages. She has been at Ashleys for four years and loves having the youngest children in the school to teach and watch them grow and learn.

Mrs. Tremont attended college for three years studying Psychology and Accounting. She has been married for over 50 years,  has two grown daughters and three grandsons.  She has a long history of admiration for Ashleys Private School after having two of her grandsons attend the school for several years.
Mrs. Tremont is also an animal lover and has a small farm in Cedar Hill. For many years she raised Miniature Show Horses. Her farm now consists of four senior Miniature Horses ranging in age from 19 to 29 years old, elderly cats and elderly dogs, that she spends much of her spare time caring for.

“Ashleys Private School has been a real blessing for me”, Mrs. Tremont says. “I love my job, the children, the wonderful people that manage the school, and the teachers that provide such a nurturing, safe and educational environment for children.”

Mrs. Tremont is the teacher that at any given time, you will find children of all ages, smothering her in hugs.

Peggy Rosnack

Peggy Rosnack has taught Pre-School and Pre-Kindergarten at Ashleys for over 10 years.  She is married and has three grown children, and a granddaughter.  Sharing the joy of learning with little children is Ms. Rosnack’s passion.  She believes that God has lead her to working with children at Ashleys. Her goal is to open new doors of learning for each child in her class.


Jimmi Haynes

Jimmi Haynes is a graduate of Texas State University. This is her first year at Ashleys. She previously taught 31 years for Dallas ISD. She believes all children can learn!

Mrs. Haynes is married and she and her husband, Kenny, have one daughter. She enjoys reading, cooking and spending time with her family.

Diana McDonald

Diana McDonald is a graduate of Texas A&M University. She taught Pre-Kindergarten at Ashleys Private School from 1987-1995 and ran a daycare service from 1996-2005. Ms. McDonald is married and has 2 grown children. She is excited to return to Ashleys as a Kindergarten teacher for her seventh year. She believes that each child is unique in how they learn and deserves special attention to reach their ultimate goals. Ms. McDonald will work to ensure that each child succeeds in a fun and exciting classroom environment.


Joanne Lopez

Joanne Lopez is a graduate of Chaminade University of Honolulu and American Intercontinental University. She holds a B.S. in Criminal Justice, a B.A. in Psychology, and a Master’s Degree is in Education. This is her tenth year teaching at Ashleys Private School. She is married and the mother of 5 children. Her goal is to make the year fun and exciting for the kids by making the learning environment upbeat and interesting. Her philosophy of teaching is that children are unique in their learning and need special attention to reach their ultimate potential. In her spare time, Ms. Lopez enjoys cooking,traveling, reading, sports and spending time with the family.


Julie Overbeek
First Grade

Julie Overbeek received her Bachelor’s degree at the University of North Texas.  This is her fifth year at Ashleys. Mrs. Overbeek is married and has two children.  Her ultimate goal in the classroom is to give each child the learning environment that best suits their needs.  She believes that learning can be fun and looks forward to each day with her class.  She challenges her students to be the best that they can be!  In her spare time she enjoys time with her family, movies, reading and Dallas Cowboys Football!!


Ellie Stuard
Fourth/Fifth Grade Homeroom

Mrs. Stuard is married and has two grown children and a new daughter-in-law. She and her husband, Jim have been involved in Christian school education for over thirty years. She has taught on many grade levels and has a passion for teaching math, science and history. She has a B.S. in Elementary Education from Christian Heritage College. In her spare time she enjoys being with her family, reading, and rooting for her favorite sports teams.

Cheryl Afghanipour
Third Grade Homeroom

Cheryl Afghanipour graduate with a Masters Degree in Secondary Reading Curriculum and Instruction from Grand Canyon University in Phoneix, Arizone. She has 24 years experience with DISD and 4 years experience with Cedar Hill ISD.

Ms. Afghanipour has three children, three grandchildren, and a German Shepherd. Originally from Springfield, Missouri, she's been living in Dallas for 28 years. Ms. Afghanipour believes that coming to Ashleys Private School is truly God's blessing!

Mrs. Leon has been teaching Spanish at Ashley’s for five years. She strives to make the learning of another language fun and exciting for all children in her class. Mrs. Leon is passionate about supporting children to reach their full potential and help them feel successful and valued in the process. She believes that it is her privilege to be a part of her student’s academic journey and wishes to be a positive and encouraging influence every day. Mrs. Leon is married and has two kids. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, learning about other cultures and cooking and eating Mexican food!

Emily Park


Emily Park graduated with a BA in Education.  She has taught 24 years in both public and private schools.  She and her husband are from Southern Illinois, but have been Texans for 37 years.  They have raised their family as a Christian family, with two sons and 4 grandchildren.  She is Bilingual and has taught all levels except Kindergarten and 1st grades.  She believes that "I am in front of the class to teach content, but my mission is to teach/guide all children to seek their best."  "Listen, think, succeed"  will take a child on his or her own path to achievement.  Each child is "yours to raise, mine to teach, and God's to bless".  I am blessed to be in that equation!
